I was a long time supporter of the death penalty right up to the moment I had to defend the death penalty in one of my communications classes. The more research I did, the more I realized the death penalty is undefendable. Outside the murder for murder, the cost alone for one death penalty case could feed & house 3 inmates for their life span. (These numbers were many, many years ago; I have not done any recent cost analysis.)
